Nocturnal Silence, 2009

hand-cut adhesive shelf paper, rubber stamps, ink, acrylic paint, mulberry paper, on BFK Rives

94" x 217"

This is the lunar counterpart to Silence, built on the same seven letter images: S-I-L-E-N-C-E.  Buried in the silvery background on slips of rice paper stamped with my alphabet is another passage from the Biblical Book of Job:

Declare if you know all this. Where is the way to the dwelling of light and where is the place of darkness that you may take it to its territory and that you may discern the paths to its home?
