O Reader, 2006
New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art,
New Harmony, Indiana
adhesive vinyl on glass
A window installation designed in conversation with works on exhibit within the gallery--an adhesive shelf paper mural and three ceramic tile installations--all of which were also titled O READER. All were based on seven images from my anthropomorphic alphabet representing the letters of the title, O READER. The phrase refers to a passage from Italo Calvino’s If on a winter’s night a traveler, “And you, too, O Reader, are meanwhile an object of reading.”
